Milk cooling
The team at United Milking Systems includes a number of specialist refrigeration engineers for the installation, service and maintenance of bulk tanks and other milk cooling equipment. From the planning of your milk cooling requirements to meet current and future needs, through the fitting (including temporary arrangements to maintain the quality of your milk during installation), to ongoing upkeep of the equipment to ensure efficiency and longevity, United Milking Systems provides the complete service.
For new equipment, GEA Farm Technologies offers an excellent range including direct expansion (DX) tanks, heat recovery systems and tanks that have been specially adapted for automatic milking systems.
For the medium to large dairy unit, the Atlas tank (10,000 litres to 30,000 litres) offers superior stainless steel quality, strength, efficient agitation and easy operator access/cleaning. It is fitted with scroll compressors for reduced energy consumption, whilst the controlled flow evaporator provides quick cooling along with longer life and greater compressor reliability.
For the small to medium sized dairy the Kryos (sizes up to 10,000 litres) is also an all-stainless steel, reinforced tank. The Kryos tank is available with tank-mounted or separate compressor units, the latter offering a wide choice of cooling capacities and technologies to meet the requirements of the individual dairy farm.
For those looking to reduce their overall energy costs, the ExtraHeat system recovers energy that is normally lost in cooling the milk to heat the water used for cleaning the milking equipment and/or the bulk milk tank. Depending on the energy consumption profile and electricity charge structure, ExtraHeat could help you to save up to 50% of your parlour water-heating costs.
In addition to the range of new milk cooling equipment, we sometimes have second-hand tanks for sale. For information on any tanks that are currently available, please check out our used equipment page.
