Service
The men and the tools
United Milking Systems prides itself on service delivery that has real benefits to our farmer customers. We have a modern vehicle fleet carrying a wide range of spare parts as well as the tools required to complete the work quickly and efficiently, and every member of our staff is dedicated to keeping our customers milking.
Fast breakdown service
United Milking Systems offers fully comprehensive breakdown support that is available to all our customers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. In most case we will be on farm within 1 hour of a call out, and whenever possible we will try to be even quicker!
Huge stock of spare parts to minimise milking down-time
To keep our farmers milking at any time of the day or night, United Milking Systems holds over £200,000's worth of stock of spare parts, milking components and dairy chemicals that can be despatched immediately. Breakdown engineers carry all the items that are most commonly needed, and whenever possible arrive at the farm with parts they will need to rectify the problem that has been reported. Similarly our service engineers ensure that they have all the parts required to complete a routine scheduled service, whilst our hygiene specialists try to ensure that they are carrying all the products on the van that are regularly required by customers they are visiting on any particular day. This means that staff do not spend time driving back to the depot unnecessarily and thus provide an efficient and cost-effective service.
For more unusual components that we do not have in stock, parts needed for milking machines can usually be sourced for next-day or three-day delivery.
Customer-orientated
We are continually striving to enhance the service we offer to our customers to support them and their businesses. To this end, we have introduced measures to help cut the demand on farmers’ time, such as service and consumables forecasting.
New installations project expertise
United Milking Systems has a wealth of experience in planning and managing new parlour installations - projects that most farmers only undertake once or twice in their working lives. Purchase of milking equipment that does not meet the needs of the individual business is a costly exercise - more so than most other capital purchases on a farm since the price includes labour required to install the equipment and this cost cannot be recouped if it is resold. We are happy to offer our expertise to customers to ensure they select the right equipment to meet their requirements and within their budget, and will help to manage the project during the building and installation phases to ensure customer satisfaction.
