Automated feeding with GEA

20th October 2016 By Chris Platt

What are the benefits of automatic feeding:

  • Less feed wastage
  • Reduced labour costs
  • Cows can be fed fresh forage up to 10 times per day
  • Creates more cubical space with less feeding area and in turn could keep new building costs down
  • 20 minute feeding time per 350 cows instead of two hours
  • Your main tractor and main operator can be completing other tasks

GEA have many different feed round or through the barn feed systems. They only require your staff to top up a series of bunkers (kitchen area) that the automatic feeders collect the correct ingredients from, mixing a highly accurate diet for the next shed of cows.

With running times in excess of 10 to 15 years!!

Also with little wear and tear costs!
