Our Staff

United Milking Systems prides itself on service delivery that has real benefits to our farmer customers. As well as engineers who are trained within the ParlourSafe scheme, we have a modern vehicle fleet carrying a wide range of spare parts as well as the tools required to complete the work quickly and efficiently. Every member of our staff is dedicated to keeping our customers milking.

Parlour testing

ISO 6690:2007 is the current standard to ensure that all components of the milking machine are working efficiently. Farm Assurance Schemes generally require regular static testing to show compliance with the standard. United Milking Services offers milking machine testing to ISO 6690: 2007 and also dynamic testing, which is useful to identify issues with the parlour and machine during milking.

We can also provide a full Milking Performance Analysis (MPA). This includes dry and wet (dynamic) testing followed by a very comprehensive written report of the findings, to give your parlour a fundamental shake down of routine, cluster support, liner choice, vacuum performance, wash performance, milking settings, how to speed up milking, better udder health, and overall how to reduce SCC and or mastitis. This process is an extremely robust approach prior to any changes that you are contemplating in your parlour as we can provide the science behind what’s going on in your milking process. We have had some absolutely huge results to milking performance by working with our customers with this new and innovative service from us.

Customer-orientated

We are continually striving to enhance the service we offer to our customers to support them and their businesses. To this end, we have introduced measures to help cut the demand on farmers’ time, such as service and consumables forecasting.

Huge stock of spare parts to minimise milking down-time

To keep our farmers milking at any time of the day or night, United Milking Systems holds a huge stock of spare parts, milking components and dairy chemicals that can be despatched immediately. Breakdown engineers carry all the items that are most commonly needed, and whenever possible arrive at the farm with parts they will need to rectify the problem that has been reported. Similarly our service engineers ensure that they have all the parts required to complete a routine scheduled service, whilst our hygiene specialists try to ensure that they are carrying all the products on the van that are regularly required by customers they are visiting on any particular day. This means that staff do not spend time driving back to the depot unnecessarily and thus provide an efficient and cost-effective service.

For more unusual components that we do not have in stock, parts needed for milking machines can usually be sourced for next-day or three-day delivery.

We also offer the full range of farm sundries and accessories from the GEA Agricultural Equipment catalogue. Browse the catalogue online or request a printed version.
