Cluster Clean

ClusterClean is an advanced cluster flushing system designed to improve hygiene standards in the milking parlour by automatically cleaning and disinfecting the milking cluster between every cow. Once a cow has been milked and the cluster is removed, the system immediately flushes the internal surfaces of the liners and milk pathways with a measured dose of water and disinfectant. This is followed by an air purge to remove any remaining liquid, leaving the cluster clean, dry, and ready for the next cow in just a matter of seconds. The process is fully automated and integrates seamlessly into the normal milking routine without slowing down throughput.

What is it used for?

The primary purpose of the system is to significantly reduce the spread of mastitis-causing bacteria from cow to cow. During milking, clusters can act as a transfer point for harmful pathogens such as Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus agalactiae, and Mycoplasma. By disinfecting the cluster after every use, ClusterClean effectively breaks this chain of transmission, helping to protect herd health and improve overall milk quality. This proactive approach to hygiene is particularly valuable for high-yielding herds, fresh calvers, and farms working to reduce infection pressure.

Key benefits

In addition to improving animal health, the system delivers clear operational and financial benefits. By reducing mastitis incidence, farms can expect lower somatic cell counts, reduced reliance on antibiotics, and fewer discarded milk losses. Labour is also reduced compared to manual cluster dipping methods, while consistency is greatly improved thanks to the automated process. The result is a more efficient, reliable, and hygienic milking routine that supports both productivity and compliance with modern dairy standards.

Overall, ClusterClean provides a simple yet highly effective way to enhance parlour hygiene at the point where it matters most. By ensuring every cow is milked with a clean and disinfected cluster, it helps safeguard herd performance, improve milk quality, and deliver long-term cost savings for progressive dairy operations.
